About GATI flying club

GATI was started about 70 years ago and flying is operated from commercial international airport in Bhuvaneswar. So, the cadets can avail RT services from the airport itself, which is a great boon to experience authentic RT service right from the beginning. GATI doesn’t have many courses as they have CPL program, Instrument rating and night rating only. However it is sufficient for a startup flying cadet. Hostel facility is also provided by GATI for students.

CPL program is the main attraction of GATI. Apart from that, they conduct personality development, spoken English and grooming courses to make students perform well. Other aviation related courses are not available as of now.

Fee Structure in GATI

CPL course costs 21.75 lakhs Rupees as a whole package including ground class and flying. Hostel charges and transit charges are not included in this package. For flying, per hour charges are as follows:

Cessna 152 = 9500 Rs

Cessna 172 = 11,000 Rs

Piper Seneca 5 = 42,500

Simulator = 2000 Rs (single engine), 6000 Rs (multi engine)

GATI is not so equipped with world class facilities. However they have basic amenities like a good library, hostel and food provisions, WiFi connectivity etc. to cope up with leading private sector players in the field.

According to the students, they have silly complaints about flying halts occasionally which may last up to a month or so due to technical or legal reasons. However this is common with almost all flying clubs in India. Facilities provided are good.
